N°14 – The Jellyfish

Jellyfish are fascinating creatures that gracefully float in the oceans, but they can also be extremely dangerous to humans. Some species of jellyfish have tentacles that contain deadly toxins that can cause severe injuries or even death.

The most dangerous jellyfish in the world is the box jellyfish, which can be found in warm and temperate waters. The tentacles of the box jellyfish are covered in thousands of stinging cells called cnidocytes, which can inject lethal toxins into a person’s skin.

The effects of jellyfish stings can vary depending on the species, the amount of venom injected, and the person’s reaction. Common symptoms include intense pain, redness, itching, nausea, and vomiting. In severe cases, stings can cause muscle spasms, heart and respiratory failure, and even death.
