N°5 – The Hippopotamus

The hippopotamus is an imposing animal often considered harmless. However, this herbivorous animal can be incredibly dangerous and poses a threat to humans. Hippopotamuses are responsible for many deadly attacks each year in Africa, where they are widespread.

Hippopotamuses are large animals, weighing up to 3,000 kilograms. Their bite is extremely powerful, capable of breaking a human’s spine in a single bite. Additionally, hippos are known to be highly territorial and aggressive, and they can attack boats or individuals who venture too close to their territory.

Hippopotamus attacks can be brutal and bloody, leaving victims mutilated or dead. Researchers estimate that hippos are responsible for over 500 deaths per year in Africa.
