Number 1 – Mosquito
The deadliest animal on the planet may surprise some, as it is neither a lion, nor a shark, nor a crocodile. In fact, the deadliest animal is much smaller and more insidious: it’s the mosquito.
Every year, mosquitoes transmit deadly diseases to millions of people worldwide, including malaria, dengue, chikungunya, and Zika virus. Malaria alone kills nearly 400,000 people each year, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa.
Mosquitoes are so dangerous because they carry deadly diseases and can easily spread them. Female mosquitoes need blood to lay their eggs, and they can bite animals and humans to obtain this blood. If the mosquito is infected with a disease, it can transmit it to the person it bites.
